Where it started

I started Maeson Maine as a zero waste, handmade clothing company focused entirely on secondhand textiles.

At the time, I was focused on labeling my journey in a way that would be easily accepted — leaving my day job to start a small business with a mission — but as I got deeper into the process of producing items for people to buy, taking custom orders up to my ears, and following my clients’ interest to determine what to make next, Maeson Maine began to feel like a monster of my own creation, rather than a fulfilling creative pursuit.

There has been a lot of learning in the process of building and breaking Maeson Maine, and the next chapter will bring more lessons I’m sure. I am extremely grateful for all the support that has gotten me this far, especially because that support also empowers me to pivot.

Where it’s going

I don’t know exactly where Maeson Maine will go from here, but I do know that I’ll be working hard to leave more room for growth, guidance and inspiration. I want to make things that make me happy, that show the people I love that I love them, and that allow me to hear myself. I am releasing control in an effort to create from a higher wavelength, and I am not making any promises.
